Our metallic pigments are photosensitive to light, which can be modified for outdoor applications. By changing the layer thickness, we achieve a wide range of interference color effects. Additional coatings such as Fe2O3 or Cr2O3 or a reduction in TiO2 content allow for even more interesting effects based on a combination of interference and selective light absorption. It is also possible to use layered structures, such as an alternate TiO2 and Fe2O3 coating on mica, which create metallic effects. Furthermore, inorganic pigments based on mixed platelet phases also generate metallic or interference effects in coatings. Importantly, our special pigments are environmentally safe and non-toxic.
